On Sunday, May 27th, 2018, the Cumberland City Police responded to a Columbia Ave residence for a reported assault. Once on scene, officers contacted the victim of the alleged assault. The victim told officers that an argument had ensued in the residence between Patrick Connors Jr. and another subject. The victim advised they tried to intervene between the two parties when Connors attacked him, pushing him into a door. Due to the victim’s statements and the visible signs of injuries, Connors was placed under arrest and transported to the station. Connors was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance where he was held on a $3,000 bond.

Warrant Arrest
On Sunday, May 27th, 2018, the Cumberland City Police arrested Royann Matthews, age 50, of Cumberland MD. Matthews was arrested on an outstanding Arrest Warrant for multiple CDS and theft charges. Matthews was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance where she was released on her personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.
