On Thursday, December 1, 2016, at approximately 9:30 AM, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Columbia Street address for a report of a domestic assault. Officers spoke with the victim who reported that she was assaulted by the suspect, Michael Elliott, on November 30, 2016 at approximately 2:40 PM. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries. Elliott was located nearby. He was placed under arrest, processed, and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.

DRUG ARREST
On Thursday, December 1, 2016, at approximately 6:00 PM, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to an Arch Street address to check on the well-being of children at the residence and for the report of drugs inside the residence. Upon arrival, officers contacted the resident, James McMillan. McMillan allowed officers to search his residence. Suspected crack cocaine was located. McMillan was placed under arrest, processed, and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.
