CPD Makes Assault & Trespassing Arrests

On Sunday September 11, 2016 at 7:11 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a business on Queen City Drive in regards to an assault.  Investigation into this matter, revealed that Robert Miller, age 44 of Cumberland, entered the business after previously being told he was not allowed on the property.  An employee approached and Miller became argumentative in front of other patrons.  When asked to leave, Miller assaulted the employee.  Officers placed Miller in custody and upon conducting a search incident to arrest, a quantity of narcotic pills were found on Miller’s person.  He was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served.  Miller was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was released on his personal recognizance pending trial. The victim of the assault did not require medical attention.

CHARGES: Possession of CDS, Assault 2nd Degree, Trespass, Disorderly Conduct.

ASSAULT

On Sunday September 11, 2016, at 7:44 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence in the 600 block of Maryland Avenue for an assault.  Upon arrival officers observed James Nash, age 40 of Cumberland, hovering over the victim who sitting on the steps of the porch.  The parties were separated and it was revealed that Nash had pushed the victim into a wall two times prior to police arrival.  Visible injuries were present and as a result Nash was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served.  Nash was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was released on his personal recognizance pending trial.  The victim did not require medial attention.

TRESPASSING

On Sunday September 11, 2016, Cumberland City Police Officers were dispatched to a business on Queen City Drive for a trespassing complaint.  Upon arrival store personnel showed officers a copy of a trespass letter that had been previously served on Kelsey Connors, age 23 of Cumberland, Maryland.  It was revealed that Connors was in the premises and as a result was placed under arrest.  Connor was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was criminally cited and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
