CPD Makes Breaking & Entering Arrest

On Sunday, January 20th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Walnut Street residence for the report of a Breaking and Entering. When officers arrived, they contacted the complainant who said that he awoke to find an unknown male inside his house. When the complainant confronted the male, he fled from the house. As officers conducted the investigation, items were found that were determined to be left behind by the male suspect. From those items, officers were able identify Michael Francis Beem as the suspect. Beem was located and arrested. He was charged with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th degree burglary, theft, and malicious destruction of property. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
