CPD Makes Burglary & Drug Arrests

At approx. 2243hrs, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Decatur Street building for an alarm.  The officer was checking the building when he observed a male subject climbing out of a window.  The officer ordered the subject to stop but he attempted to flee on foot.  The officer gave chase and was able to locate the suspect along with his partner who also ran from the building.  Brandon Lee-Anthony Miller was taken into custody along with his juvenile accomplice.  They were transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  The juvenile was released to a family member pending a hearing in juvenile court.  Miller was transported to the Allegany Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

Charges: 4th Degree Burglary, Obstructing, Trespassing, and Destruction of Property

 

 

At approx. 2256hrs, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Industrial Blvd.  The officer requested a K-9 unit to assist based on observations from people inside the vehicle.  The K-9 unit arrived and conducted a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle.  The K-9 gave a positive alert to the presence of the odor of drugs.  A search was conducted and the passenger Alicia Danyelle Clayton was found to be in possession heroin and oxymetholone.  The officers also located numerous prescription medications not in the proper bottles and paraphernalia related to heroin.   Clayton was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Clayton was later taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was released pending trail.

Charges: 2 counts of possession not marijuana, 3 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and 4 counts of possession of prescription medication not labeled.
