CPD Makes CDS Arrest & Serves Criminal Summons

On Monday, February 24th, 2020 a Cumberland Police Officer stopped a vehicle in the area of E. Second Street for displaying two different licenses plates.  The officer contacted the driver who was identified as Carl Patrick Miller.  Miller was made aware for the reason for the stop and admitted to knowing about the different plates.  A consent search was conducted by officers and a quantity of suspected crack cocaine was located on the driver’s seat.  Miller was arrested and charged with CDS possession not marihuana and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.

Criminal Summons Served

On Monday, February 24th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons issued by District Court on Byron Jamar Simms III for driving on a suspended license.  He signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial.
