CPD Makes Several Arrests On Monday

On Monday September 4th, 2017 the Cumberland City Police Department served a Circuit Court Arrest Warrant on Shanna Marie Lantz. Ms. Lantz was wanted for violation of probation on a previous neglect of a minor charge. Ms. Lantz was held without bond and was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center.

Arrested:

Shanna Marie Lantz, age 26.  Cumberland, MD

Charge:

Violation of Probation

 

Adult Arrest

On Monday September 4th, 2017 at approximately 6:30 PM, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to a business on South Mechanic Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers made contact with Joseph William Wood. During the investigation officers discovered that Mr. Wood was involved in an altercation with an employee and he was asked to leave. Officers attempted to get Mr. Wood to leave however he began to yell at patrons. Mr. Wood was placed under arrest without issue. During a search incident to arrest Mr. Wood was found to have prescription medication on his person without a prescription label.  Mr. Wood was taken before a District Court Commissioner and was held on $3,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Joseph William Wood, age 38.  Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Affray, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Fail to Obey a Lawful Order, and CDS Possession not Marijuana

 

Adult Arrest

On Monday September 4th, 2017 at approximately 9:30 PM, officers from the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Columbia Avenue for a breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival officers were able to get a description of the suspect.  Officers located the suspect a short distance away and identified him as Charles Frederick Wayne Lipscomb Jr. Officers learned that Mr. Lipscomb forced his way into a duplex which one side was occupied and the other side was vacant. Mr. Lipscomb made entry into the vacant side and then utilized a balcony to enter the occupied side. Residents advised Mr. Lipscomb the police were called and he left the area on foot. Mr. Lipscomb was positively identified by the victim. Mr. Lipscomb was placed under arrest without issue. He was later taken before a District Court Commissioner and was held on $5,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Charges:

Burglary 3rd Degree, Burglary 4th Degree, and Malicious Destruction of Property less than $1,000.00
