CPD Makes Theft & Warrants Arrests

On June 25, 2018 at approximately 11:04 AM the Cumberland Police responded to a business on Park Street for a shoplifting complaint.  When police arrived they met with an employee who said he caught Randi Lee Ackerson leaving the store without paying for several items.  The items were recovered and returned to the store. Ackerson was arrested and issued a criminal citation for Theft Less than $100 and released pending trial in District Court.

Warrant Arrest

On June 25 2018 the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Katie Lynn Shrader.  The warrant charges her with 2nd Degree Assault, Malicious Destruction Missiles at Vehicle, and Throwing Objects at Vehicle or Its Occupants.  The charges stem from an investigation conducted by police on June 20, 2018 that occurred in the 600 block of Bedford Street.  During the incident police learned Shrader and an adult male victim had been involved in an argument. The victim began to leave in a vehicle when Shrader threw a cement block at the driver side windshield, which is where he was seated inside the vehicle.  Shrader fled the scene and police filed charges through the District Court Commissioner and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Shrader was arrested and taken before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing where she was held on $5,000. She was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await her next appearance in District Court.  The victim was not injured during the incident.

Warrant Arrest

On June 25, 2018 the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Christian Leroy Liller.  The warrant charges Liller with 2nd Degree Assault, 4th Degree Burglary, and Trespassing on Private Property.  The charges stem from an investigation Cumberland Police conducted on May 30, 2018.  During that incident the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Memorial Avenue at 12:45 AM for a disturbance.  When police arrived they learned Liller had been at an adult female’s residence when he began creating a disturbance. The female asked Liller to leave, but he refused until she called the police.  At 3:15 AM police were called back to the same residence and met with the same female. They learned Liller had returned to the residence and had knocked on the door. When the victim opened the door she realized it was Liller.  She did not want him in the residence and attempted to close the door, but he forced his way into the residence and began assaulting her. Liller fled the scene prior to police arrival. Police filed charges through the District Court Commissioner and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  The victim was transported by the Cumberland Fire Department to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Liller was taken before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing where he was released on his personal recognizance.
