CPD Makes Trespassing Arrest & Serves Bench Warrants

On 03/11/18 at 9:56am an Officer with the Cumberland Police Dept was on patrol in the area of Queen City Dr when they observed a subject crossing the railroad tracks in a posted no trespassing area. The officer made contact with the subject who was identified as 27 year old Ricardo Simmons of Cumberland.  Simmons was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters where he was issued a criminal citation for trespassing on private property and released pending trial in District Court.

 

Bench Warrant Served

 

On 03/11/18 the Cumberland Police Dept served two bench warrants on 33 year old Travis Elder of Fort Ashby WV. The first warrant stems from Elder Failing to appear in District Court on an original charge of Theft. The second warrant stems from Elder violating his probation on original Theft charges. Elder was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on a total of $17,500 pending his next court appearance.

 

Bench Warrant Served

 

On 03/11/18 the Cumberland Police Dept served a bench warrant on 23 year old Marquise Taylor of New Creek WV. The warrant stems from Taylor Failing to Appear in Frederick Co District Court on an original charge of Theft. Taylor was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was released on his personal recognizance pending his next court appearance.
