CPD Makes Trespassing & Breaking And Entering Arrests

On November 15, 2016 a Cumberland Police Officer was on patrol when he observed a female subject trespassing on the Posted No Trespassing property of the CSX railway at Knox Street and Henderson Avenue.  The Officer contacted the female and identified her as Crystal Nicole Rymer.  The Officer advised her she was trespassing on posted property and placed her under arrest.  She was transported to the Cumberland Police Department where she was issued a criminal citation.  She was released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

Charges:

Trespassing – Posted Property

 

Safety Announcement

The Cumberland Police Department would like to remind all citizens that the CSX railway property is a No Trespassing area.  There are many signs in the area advising citizens they are not to be on CSX property.  Anyone found trespassing on CSX property will be arrested and prosecuted.

 

Breaking and Entering Arrests

On November 15, 2016 Cumberland Police Officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering of an abandoned house on Cecelia Street.  The residence is currently owned by the City of Cumberland.  Upon their arrival, Officers were met by the caller who stated he observed two females force open a rear door to the residence and enter.  He stated the females were still inside the residence.  Officers then searched the residence and heard the two females.  Officers located the females and identified them as Manda Dyan Keifer and Monica Marie Bowman.  Neither subject had permission to be inside the residence.  They stated they had been staying at the residence for a few days.  While inside the residence, Officers located CDS paraphernalia in and around the belongings of the females.  Both females were placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  Both were charged and taken before the Allegany County District Court Commissioner.  Both were then remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.  Bowman was held on $10,000 bond and Keifer was held on $6,000 bond.

Charges:

Burglary: Second Degree, Trespassing on Posted Property and CDS Possession of Paraphernalia.

Arrested:

Manda Dyan Keifer, age 33, Grantsville, MD

Charges:

Burglary: Fourth Degree, Trespassing on Posted Property and CDS Possession of Paraphernalia.

 

Bench Warrant Arrests

On November 15, 2016, Cumberland Police Officers served Bench Warrants for Failure to Appear for Trials on the below listed subjects:

 

Arrested:

Michael Caswell, age 29, Wiley Ford, WV

A bench warrant for Failure to Appear for an original charge of Theft.  He was released on his Personal Recognizance.

 

Tanner Chaplain, age 20, Frostburg, MD

A bench warrant for Failure to Appear on an underage alcohol violation. He was released on his Personal Recognizance.

 

Tanna Lewis, 29, Cumberland, MD

A bench warrant for Failure to Appear. She was released on her Personal Recognizance.
