CPD Responds To Protective Order Violation & Domestic Assault

On Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Virginia Avenue residence for the report of a male that was violating a protective order.  When officers arrived, they located James Oliver Long on the property and confirmed that he was in violation of the order that was served on him earlier today by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.  Long was arrested and taken to the Cumberland Police Station for processing.  He was then taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

James Oliver Long, age; 62, Cumberland, Maryland.

Charge:  Violation of a protective order.

Held without bond.

 

Domestic Assault Arrest

 

On Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department responded to an Arch Street address for the report of an assault in progress.  When officers arrived, contact was made with the victim that claimed she was struck in the face by her intoxicated son.  Officers observed an injury to the victim and supporting her claim of the assault.  Jason D. Roager was questioned and subsequently arrested.  He was taken to the Cumberland Police Department and later taken before the District Court Commissioner for a bond review.  Roager was then remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on a $3,000 bond.

Charge:  2nd degree assault.
