CPD Responds To Theft Complaint & Serve Warrants

On Wednesday, July 6, 2016 Officers from the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Antoine Askins.  The summons stemmed from an incident that occurred at a Park Street business on June 8, 2016.  The complainant stated they observed Askins leave the business without paying for some food items.  A summons was issued charging Askins with Theft less than $100.  Askins was served with the criminal summons and released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

Antoine Askins, age 51, of Cumberland, MD

Charges: Theft less than $100

 

Warrant Arrests

On Wednesday, July 6, 2016 Cumberland Police Officers served the following bench warrants:

 

Arrested:

Kevin Hewlin, age 31, of Cumberland, MD

Charges: Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation

Remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $500 pre-set bond.

 

Brian Simmons Jr, age 26, of Cumberland, MD

Charges: Bench Warrant for failure to appear

Released on own recognizance.
