CPD Serves Arrest Warrant & Criminal Summons

On Tuesday January 24, 2017, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Gary Ray, age 36 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The warrant was issued by a private citizen who alleged that during December 2016 through January 2017, Ray stole numerous items from the victim’s residence and storage house.  Ray was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  He was held on a $10,000.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES:  Burglary 4th Degree (x2), Theft (x2), Theft Scheme.

 

SUMMONS SERVICE

 

On Tuesday January 24, 2017, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Maurice Tyson, age 22 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The summons was issued as a result of a December 28, 2016 theft investigation that occurred in the 600 block of Hilltop Drive.  It was revealed that Tyson stole a purse out of the victim’s vehicle which contained currency and other items.  Tyson was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGES:  Theft less than $1k, Rogue and Vagabond.
