CPD Serves Warrant And Makes Several Arrests

On June 26, 2017 the Cumberland Police served a Circuit Court warrant for Failure to Appear on Nicholas Craig Moreland.  Moreland failed to appear for a child support hearing on June 14, 2017.  Moreland was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in court.

Arrested: 

Nicholas Craig Moreland, Jr., age:  26, Cumberland, MD

Charges:  Failure to Appear

CDS Arrest

On June 26, 2017 at approximately 11:04 AM a Cumberland Police officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Mechanic Street.  Police contacted the driver, Micah Andrew Stephens, and advised him the reason for the stop.  A police K-9 was utilized to conduct a scan of the vehicle.  After a positive alert the vehicle was searched by police resulting in marijuana being discovered.  Stephens was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana over 10 grams and CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute.  Stephens was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance.  The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana over 10 grams and CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute

Trespassing Arrest

On June 26, 2017 the Cumberland Police responded to a suspicious person complaint on Dexter Place in the area of Center Street.  Police located Molly Miller Donahue in an area that was clearly marked as a no trespassing area.  Donahue was arrested and issued a criminal citation for Trespassing.  She was released pending trial in District Court.
