WCBC radio has received numerous calls indicating the CSX Corporation has issued 1099's to the residents of Hyndman, PA, who were reimbursed by CSX when a major derailment happened in August, 2017.
The reimbursements were provided due to the displacement of residents from their homes. Issuing the forms causes the reimbursement to become income for those who receive them.
WCBC's news department has reached out to CSX for comment.
