CSX Purchases County Land

During a brief business meeting on Thursday, Tim Carney, a county economic developer, announced that 3.1 acres of county land will be sold to CSX in the Mexico Farms area near the industrial park. Carney said that CSX has a national program to remove obstructions that prevent passage of double stacked containers. After buying the land for $70,000, the railroad will remove a rail bridge over the mainline and build a siding there that will be used to provide service to Berry Plastics, an employer of 175 workers…
