Cumberland Assault Arrest

August 17th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

On Saturday August 16, 2014, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on David Lee Kesler, age 22 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The charges were filed as a result of an incident that took place on Friday August 15, 2014 in the 200 block of Baltimore Avenue where officers responded to a disturbance complaint.  Upon arrival, officers observed Kesler screaming and acting in a disorderly manner.  He allegedly approached an officer with a clenched fist and attempted to reach for the officer’s gunbelt.  He was placed in custody and placed in a patrol car.  Kesler head butted the window of the cruiser window and cracked the glass.  It was later learned that Kesler had also punched through a glass door at a nearby apartment building prior to police arrival.  Kesler was served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for a bond review.  He was held on a $8,500.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
