Cumberland boy breaks swim record

Daniel Diehl, 10 of Cumberland, broke the Cumberland Sea Otters age 9-10 50 yard backstroke record during the Saturday, July16th, Summer Swim League Championships. The previous record was 33.02 seconds and Daniel stroked in at 32 seconds!! Diehl’s goal was “to win the backstroke event (his favorite stroke) and set a Sea Otter record for the 50 back” and he accomplished that goal on Saturday, July 16thThe YMCA of Cumberland is a non-profit organization that strengthens the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
