The Cumberland Mayor and City Council will conduct their regular meeting Tuesday evening at 6:15 at City Hall. Council is expected to approve the issuance of $3.8 million in general obligation bonds to deal with infrastructure improvements, financing and refinancing projects, and to replenish the city's capital reserve fund.
The Maryland Department of Health's Opioid Operational Command Center has awarded $10,000 to the City of Cumberland for police overtime to support efforts to curb the epidemic. Over the next years, the local health department is expected to conduct six drug interdiction events with the goal of decreasing the supply of illicit drugs in Allegany County.
