Cumberland Couple arrested on active warrants

On Wednesday April 18, 2018 at 3:30pm, The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit received information that Brianna Lynn Goetz, 24, Cumberland and Jasmond Jaquan Metheny, 27, Cumberland, were at an address on Furnace Street in Cumberland. Goetz had 7 Active Arrest Warrants: 5 for Failure to Appear, 1 for Violation of Probation and 1 for Theft. Metheny had 4 Active Arrest Warrants: 1 for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and 3 for Failure to Appear.

The Sheriff’s Office Warrant Deputy observed Metheny walking on Furnace Street. Upon seeing the Deputy, Metheny fled on foot and was arrested a short distance away. Goetz exited a residence on Furnace Street and was arrested without incident.

Following their arrest Goetz and Metheny were taken before a District Court Commissioner for their Initial Appearance. Members of the Cumberland City Police assisted with the arrests.
