Cumberland Gas prices hold steady into the New Year

High travel volumes over the holidays drove gas prices higher over the past two weeks locally and nationally, and are at the highest level since 2014 when the national average was $3.32 and $3.46 in Maryland on this date. Today’s national gas price average is $2.49 per gallon, which is a penny more than one week and one month ago, and 13 cent higher than this time last year. In Maryland, the average price for gas is back over the $2.50 per gallon mark for the first time since November 20.  The state average is trending two cents higher than the national average at $2.51 per gallon, which is four cents higher than last week, five cents more than last month, and 13 cents higher than last year on this date. Cumberland held steady with no change from last week.
