On Saturday afternoon, at approximately 1:30 PM the Cumberland Police arrested Shawn Lee Hamlette for Theft Under $1000.
The arrest occurred after police responded to a business on Park Street for a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival police learned an employee with the business observed Hamlette leave the store with numerous items without paying for them.
Hamlette was located and placed under arrest. He was issued a criminal citation for Theft under $1000 and released pending trial in District Court.
