Cumberland Man Arrested On Affray & Disorderly Conduct Charges

On May 7, 2018 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the area of Baltimore Street at Queen City Drive for a reported assault in progress.  Prior to officers arriving in the area, they were advised that the fight had created a large disturbance, drawing a large crowd.  Upon the officers arrival they were directed in the area of Chopsticks restaurant where one of the subjects involved in the fight was walking away from the scene.   The subject was contacted and identified as, Jerry Dwayne Hunt.  During an investigation into the matter, officers learned that Hunt and a second male subject were involved in an altercation that started in the underpass on Baltimore Street.  The fight which continued onto the street was eventually broken up.  Hunt who refused to cooperate with police became unruly and obstructed the officers investigation was placed under arrest at the scene.  Hunt was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Hunt was taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Hunt was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $3,000 bond.

Charges: Affray, Obstructing and Hindering and Disorderly Conduct.
