Cumberland man arrested on drug charges

On Friday  members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack, Garrett County Narcotics Task Force and Cumberland City Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant in the area of Weber Street, Cumberland, MD. Entry into the residence was conducted by Cumberland City Police Department’s CERT Team.   

 

The search warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force into the distribution and sales of cocaine in the Allegany County area. During the subsequent search, Allegany County Narcotics Task Force investigators located large amounts of cocaine, United States Currency and CDS packaging material. The street value of the cocaine found was over $30,000.00.  Additionally, two handguns and a semi-automatic rifle were located inside the residence.     

 

As a result, Jamar Steven Scribner, 36, of Cumberland, MD was arrested. 

 

Scribner was charged with the following:

 

- CDS POSS W/INT TO DIST COCAINE

- CDS: POSS-NOT MARIJUANA

- FIREARM/DRUG TRAF CRIME

- CDS-POSS OF FIREARMS

- REG FIREARM: ILLEGAL POSSESSION

 

Following his initial appearance at the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office, Scribner was held without bond.  The investigation is ongoing.
