Cumberland man assaults police officer

On Friday, March 18, 2016 Cumberland Police served a Criminal Summons on Kathy Ann Knisely.  The summons stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 11, 2016. Officers from the Cumberland Police Department had responded to McDonald’s on Queen City Drive for a disturbance.  Officers arrived on scene and contacted the involved parties.  Witnesses reported that the suspect, Knisely, had pulled out a knife and pointed it at multiple people. After investigation, charges were later filed against Knisely at the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office.  A Criminal Summons was issued.   Knisely was served with the Criminal Summons and released pending trial.

CHARGES:  Reckless Endangerment (x2), Disorderly Conduct

 

 

ASSAULT ON POLICE ARREST

On Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:26 pm, officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Valley Street address for a subject attempting to collect belongings from the residence.  When officers arrived, they met with this subject and the suspect, Roger Morgan Jr., who were having a domestic dispute.  While officers stood-by at the residence, Morgan became belligerent and assaulted a Cumberland police officer.  Morgan then resisted arrest.  He was placed in hand restraints and transported to the police station where he became combative and assaulted a Cumberland police officer and a member of the Cumberland Fire Department.  He was processed and is now awaiting his initial appearance at the District Court of Allegany County.

CHARGES:  Assault-2nd Degree (x3), Resisting Arrest, Obstructing and Hindering
