December 31st, 2020 by WCBC Radio

On December 30th, 2020 officers of the Cumberland City Police responded to a Bond Street address for a report of shots being fired into the residence. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim who advised that a suspect had fired gunshots into their residence on three separate occasions. The victim advised that during this incident a bullet nearly struck them. Officers gathered evidence from the scene and developed Anthony Joseph Huff as the suspect in the incident. The officers then authored and executed a Search and Seizure Warrant for a residence in the 300 block of Columbia Street, where they learned that Huff had recently left the residence. Officers continued their investigation and search for Huff, when information was developed that he may be at a residence on Mechanic Street. Officers arrived to check the residence when they spoke with a witness who advised them that Huff was inside the apartment. While speaking with the owner of the apartment, Rose Ann Zuppardo, Officers observed Huff inside the residence, and attempted to order him out of the apartment. As officers attempted to place Huff under arrest Zuppardo attempted to close the door in attempt to continue to hide Huff. Huff began to resist arrest and Zuppardo struck an officer numerous times while they attempted to place Huff under arrest. Officers then authored two additional Search and Seizure Warrants for the residence and other property. During the execution of the Search and Seizure Warrants a handgun was located matching the description provided by the victim of the shooting incident. Officers also located a quantity of suspected marijuana, packaging materials, and currency indicating the distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Both Huff and Zuppardo were placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner. Zuppardo was released on her own recognizance and Huff is still waiting for his initial appearance.
