Saturday evening, a Cumberland city police officer conducted traffic on a vehicle for equipment violations. A department canine officer was requested to the scene for a free air sniff of the vehicle. The canine alerted to presence of an odor of CDS and a search of the vehicle was conducted. As a result of the search the following items were located, several prescription pills, CDS paraphernalia, a hand gun and several rounds of ammunition.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Ryan Anthony Swan Green was placed under arrest and transported to Cumberland Police department for processing. He was later transported to District Court for his initial appearance before a commissioner. As a result of the hearing Green was held on an 8,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
