Cumberland Man Sentenced In Drug Case

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, along with the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, announced on Wednesday, Carlos Bernard Mackall, 23 of Cumberland, Maryland was found guilty by an Allegany County Jury of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of cocaine, in the Circuit Court for Allegany County. After the guilty verdict, the Honorable Jeffrey S. Getty, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, sentenced Mackall to 10 years in the Maryland Department of Correction with 7 years suspended, for a total of 3 years actual incarceration.  After release, Mackall will be placed on 3 years supervised probation.    

The case was the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, into the distribution and sales cocaine in the Allegany County area.

The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by Sean P. Gallagher, Esq.

    In the report of his arrest in June, he was noted to be “of Baltimore”. It looks like the city’s charms have lured yet another resident.
