Cumberland Man Sentenced To 20 Years For March Armed Roberries

The Allegany County State’s Attorney’s Office, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney announced the sentencing of Pat McGriff, 25, of Cumberland, Maryland to the Department of Corrections for 20 years.  The sentencing resulted from his convictions of three armed robberies in Cumberland and Corriganville in March of 2016.  In each of the offenses McGriff produced a silver colored pistol and demanded money.  He was apprehended in April 2016 and admitted his involvement in the robberies.

McGriff received an additional 22 years which were suspended and ordered on 3 years supervised probation upon his release from serving his 20 year sentence.

The case was prosecuted by State’s Attorney Michael O. Twigg and McGriff was represented by Assistant Public Defender David Schram.  The Honorable Jeffrey S. Getty presided over the matter.
