On Sunday, September 11, 2016, at 7:00 am, Officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 900 block of Oldtown Rd for fight involving a bat. When officers arrived they learned that a male subject had been stabbed during an altercation, and had been transported to the hospital in a civilian vehicle. The Cumberland Police assisted by C3I began interviewing witnesses and the victim. Information obtained through the investigation, allege that the victim was approached by an unknown male behind a business on Oldtown Rd. The male then demanded money and began attacking the victim with a knife and bat. The victim subsequently was able to take the bat from the suspect before the suspect fled the area. The investigation into the assault is ongoing by the Cumberland Police and C3I.
