February 2nd, 2020 by WCBC Radio

On Saturday, Cumberland Police responded to a Fayette Street residence for a loud noise complaint.

When officers arrived, a loud disturbance was heard in the rear of the residence. When officers went to check, several subjects were observed on a porch area and upon seeing police, fled inside the residence. The officers then attempted to make contact with the subjects inside the residence and were able to observe individuals that appeared to be under age with alcoholic beverages present.

Officers managed to make entry into the residence and they were confronted by an intoxicated male later identified as Ryan Wayne Jacques who immediately became confrontational with officers. Jacques was told to calm down but continued arguing with officers and eventually shoved one officer. He was arrested and while officers were attempting to determine what exactly was taking place in the residence, another male later identified as Logan James Bittinger, entered the residence and also became confrontational with officers. Logan was asked by officers several times to step outside and not to interfere with their investigation. He refused to do as directed and also was arrested.

Jacques was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing and hindering, and resisting arrest. Logan was charged with failure to obey a lawful order and obstructing and hindering. Both were taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.
