Cumberland Police Dept transfers donation to Family Crisis Resource Center

March 27th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

The Modern Woodmen is a fraternal financial service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for families and communities.  In February, the Modern Woodmen honored the Cumberland Police Department with a Hometown Hero award.  As a recipient of the award the Cumberland Police Department was able to choose a non-profit organization who contributes to the community to receive a donation.    Our city has many quality organizations who are deserving of such an award and we are appreciative of them all.   The Cumberland Police Department decided to give the financial donation to one of our partners, the Family Crisis Resource Center.    The Family Crisis Resource Center has been a working with us for many years and has a staff dedicated to helping the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.   They have helped many families through crisis and have saved lives.  We are very fortunate to have them in our city and we are proud to call them our partners.

“Family Crisis Resource Center, Inc. congratulates Cumberland Police Department upon their recognition as a Hometown Hero by the Modern Woodmen.  CPD and FCRC have a long history of partnership to support the safety of domestic violence and rape victims.  We are honored to be selected as the donation recipient.  This donation will be used to support victim services in Allegany County” Sarah Kaiser, Executive Director, FCRC
