Cumberland Police Execute Search Warrant & Make Two Arrests

On Wednesday, March 20th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant at 325 Williams Street.  The search warrant execution was based on a robbery investigation that allegedly occurred earlier in the day.  When officers entered the residence, two male residents were identified by officers as Eric Lee Smith, and Anthony Joseph Huff.  A search of the residence was conducted and a stolen handgun, large quantity of marijuana, currency, and CDS paraphernalia were recovered.  Both Huff and Smith were arrested and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  Huff and Smith were later taken before the District Court Commissioner for a bond review.  Huff was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond and Smith was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.

Anthony Joseph Huff, age; 20, Cumberland, Maryland.

Charges:  Armed robbery, assault 1st, and 2nd degree, reckless endangerment, wear and carry a handgun, possession of marihuana, possession with intent to distribute marihuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, theft, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Eric Lee Smith, age; 19, Cumberland, Maryland.

Charges:  Possession with intent to distribute marihuana, possession of marihuana, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
