Cumberland Police Make Assault & Theft Arrests

THEFT

On Saturday December 5, 2015, at 8:00 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a business on Virginia Avenue for a reported Theft. Investigation into this matter revealed that Sue Lilly, age 47 of Cumberland, was observed taking store owned items and exiting the premises without paying for them. Lilly was criminally cited and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE: Theft less than $100.00 dollars.

SUMMONS SERVICE

On Saturday December 5, 2015, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Charles Lucas III, age 33 of Cumberland. The summons was issued as a result of a December 2, 2015 Theft investigation that occurred at a business on Park Street where Lucas was observed exiting the premises with store owned items that he failed to pay for. Lucas was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

WARRANT SERVICE

On Saturday December 5, 2015, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Chad Izat, age 30 of Cumberland. The warrant was issued as a result of a November 12, 2015 incident that occurred in the 200 block of Union Street. Investigation into this matter revealed that Izat approached a pedestrian walking on Union Street, grabbed a bag that the victim was carrying and fled the area. Izat was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing. Izat was held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES: Robbery, Theft less than $100.00 dollars, Assault 2nd Degree.
