Cumberland Police Make CDS & Warrant Arrests

At approximately 2113 hours officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to Browning Street for a suspicious vehicle complaint.  Officers arrived and located a vehicle parked with several people inside.  Upon talking with the subjects inside the officer found inconsistencies in their stories.  The officer received permission to search one of the occupants and her purse.  During the search controlled paraphernalia and other heroin related paraphernalia was located inside her purse.  Tryston Peige Smith was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Smith was later taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was released pending trial.

Charges: Possession of controlled paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia


Arrest Warrant Served

At approximately 2140 hours officers located Phillip Glenn Potter at an Elm Street residence.  Potter was taken into custody without incident.  Potter was wanted on a District Court warrant for failing to appear at a recent court hearing.  Potter was taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $3,000.00 bond. 


Charge: Failure to appear
