Cumberland Police Make Disorderly Conduct Arrest

On August 8, 2015 a Cumberland Police officer was assisting another officer on a traffic stop in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue when the officer heard yelling and screaming coming from the parking lot of a nearby business. The officer made contact with the person causing the disturbance, identified as Christy Ann Smith, and advised her to stop creating a disturbance. As Smith was walking away on Fourth Street she continued to turn around and yell profanities at the officer, further creating a disturbance. The female was contacted again by the officer and placed under arrest. She was transported to the Cumberland Police Department where she was issued a criminal citation for Disorderly Conduct. She was released pending trial in District Court.

On Saturday, June 06, 2015 at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a housing complex on Baltimore Street in reference to a male subject creating a disturbance. Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the suspect who was identified as Ted Beall. The officer contacted Beall and began to speak with him in reference to the disturbance. Beall yelled at the officer and began to curse at him. Several staff members and the officer tried to calm Beall and help him to his apartment. Beall refused and continued to scream and curse continuing his disruptive behavior. Beall was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Beall was later issued two criminal citations charging him with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. Beall was released pending his trail at District Court.
