Cumberland Police Make Failure To Appear & Assault Arrests

On 10/28/2018 at approximately 5:45 AM the Cumberland City Police were dispatched to a business in the 400 block of Virginia Ave for a theft complaint. The officers arrived on scene and were provided a photo of the suspect. The officer’s recognized the suspect to be Corey Francis Schriner from previous incidents. Officers responded to Mr. Schriner’s residence and were made aware by dispatch that Mr. Schriner was currently wanted for failing to appear in Circuit Court on armed robbery charges. Officers searched the residence and located Mr. Schriner hiding under a bed. Mr. Schriner was placed under arrest after a brief struggle. Officers escorted Mr. Schriner from the residence and he started yelling and causing a disturbance. Mr. Schriner then began kicking the police vehicle. Mr. Schriner was eventually placed inside the police van and taken directly to the Allegany County Detention Center. Mr. Schriner was held without bond on the Circuit Court arrest warrant. Additional charges are pending against Mr. Schriner as a result of the initial complaint.

Adult Arrest

On 10/28/2018 at approximately 7:45 PM the Cumberland City Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lafayette Ave for an assault. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim who advised they were hit in the head by the suspect. Officers observed injuries consistent with the victim’s statement. Officers learned both parties were currently living at the residence. Officers placed Susan Georgette Frye under arrest for domestic assault. Ms. Frye was taken before a District Court Commissioner and was released on her personal recognizance.

Arrested – Susan Georgette Frye (60) Cumberland, MD

Charge – Assault 2nd Degree
