Cumberland Police Make Warrant Arrests

On February 15, 2018 the Cumberland Police served an Arrest Warrant on Edgar David Johnson.  The warrant charges Johnson with several animal cruelty related charges after Allegany County Animal Control opened an investigation on January 11, 2018 for a residence on Mt. Savage Road in Corriganville.  Johnson was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a bond of $4000.  He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court.  

Arrested:

Edgar David Johnson:  40, Cumberland, MD

Charges:  Animal Cruelty and Animal Cruelty Fail:  Provide X2

 

Warrant Arrest

On February 15, 2018 the Cumberland Police served a Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on Phillip Glenn Potter.  The warrant charges Potter with failing to appear for District Court on February 14, 2018 on an original charge of Trespassing.  Potter was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on his personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.

Charges:  Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear

Warrant Arrest

On February 15, 2018 the Cumberland Police served a Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on Melony Lynn Melvin.  The warrant charges Melvin with failing to appear for court on February 12, 2018 on an original charge of Theft:  Less than $100.  Melvin was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on $500 bond.  She was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await her next appearance in District Court.

Melony Lynn Melvin:  35, Cumberland, MD

Charges:  Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear

On June 27, 2017 the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Charles Wayne McDaniel charging him with 2nd Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct.  The charges stem from an incident Cumberland Police investigated on June 22, 2017.  In that incident police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Race Street for an assault complaint.  Police learned McDaniel had assaulted a juvenile male inside the residence two different times just prior to police arrival.  Minor injuries were observed to the juvenile, which did not require medical treatment.  McDaniel was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment that was unrelated to the assault.  After being served with the warrant McDaniel was taken for a bond hearing at the District Court Commissioner’s Office where he was held on $20,000 bond.  He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court.

Charges:  2nd Degree Assault and Disorderly Conduct

Warrant Arrest

On June 27, 2017 the Cumberland Police served a Bench Warrant for Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation for an original charge of Driving without a License on Bo Allen Becker.  Becker was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a pre-set bond of $1000.  Becker posted bond and was released pending trial in District Court.

Charges:  Bench Warrant for Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation
