Cumberland Police Serve Summons for Gun Shots, Drug Possession

On Saturday, Cumberland Police served a criminal summons on Adella Renee McKenzie, 37 of the city, for discharging a firearm in the City limits.

The summons was issued by District Court in reference to an incident that occurred on June 26th, when officers responded to a Frederick Street residence for an assault report. When officers arrived, they learned that McKenzie and two other individuals had been discharging a small caliber firearm prior to their arrival.

She signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial at District Court.

Also on Saturday, John Gilbert Caldwell, age; 67 of Cumberland, was served a criminal summons for CDS possession not marihuana and possession of paraphernalia.

The summons was issued by District Court in reference to an incident that occurred on May 15th, 2020 when he was found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine by police.

He signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial at District Court.
