Cumberland Police Serves Warrants & Criminal Summons

On August 21, 2019 Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Brandon Anthony Wilson, age 28 of Keyser, West Virginia.   A warrant was issued for Wilsons arrest after he failed to appear in court in Washington County, Maryland.   Wilson was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Wilson was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.   Wilson was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $2,000 bond.

Arrested: Brandon Anthony Wilson        Age: 28 of Keyser, WV

Charge: Bench Warrant Failure to Appear.

 

Arrest Warrant Served

On August 21, 2019 Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Keonna Marie Britton, age 25 of Cumberland, Maryland.  Charges were issued after a private citizen filed charges at District Court.   The victim alleged that on August 21, 2019 she was confronted by Britton on Park Street.  The victim stated that she was grabbed by Britton and assaulted.  As a result of this warrant being issued, Britton was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.   After her initial appearance Britton was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond.

Charges: 2nd Degree Assault

 

Criminal Summons Served

On August 21, 2019 Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Melvin Eugene Mumma Jr., age 72 of Cumberland, Maryland.   The charges were issued after an investigation into a counterfeiting complaint that was handled by the Cumberland City Police Department on August 19, 2019 at Howells Sunoco on Queen City Drive.  During an investigation into the matter, officers learned from a store clerk that Mr. Mumma entered the store on two separate occasions attempting to purchase beer with a counterfeit twenty dollar bill.  Mumma was developed as a suspect from video surveillance.  Mumma was contacted later that day and admitted to officers that he was in possession of the counterfeit currency.  Mumma was served with the summons and released pending a trial date in District Court.

Charge: Possessing counterfeit currency
