Cumberland prices at the pump remain the highest in the state

May 5th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The nationwide average price of gas continued to increase this week, although not at the rate seen in previous weeks. Meantime, Maryland’s average, along with some metro areas, is holding steady or even declining slightly. However, a few areas across the state, notably Frederick and the Maryland suburbs of Washington continue to experience week-over-week price increases. After weeks of increases, Cumberland  prices dropped a penny to $2.87 but still rank as the highest in the state.

Today’s national gas price average is $2.82 per gallon, which is up two cents in the last week, up 16 cents in the last month and 45 cents higher than this time last year.

Maryland’s average cost at the pump is four cents lower than the national average at $2.78 per gallon.  The state average is unchanged from last week’s price, but 10 cents higher than last month, and 43 cents more than last year’s price on this date.
