Cumberland Street Bridge subject of City Meeting

The Engineering Department for the City of Cumberland would like to notify the public that on Tuesday, 8/4/2020, from 5:30pm-6:00pm. there will be a public work session to permit the Cumberland City Engineer and EBA Engineering, Inc., the City’s consultant, to present the preliminary plans for the future Cumberland Street Bridge Replacement Project.

 

This project shall replace the 174’-8” long by 38’-0” wide steel plate girder bridge with a new structure of similar dimensions between North Spruce Place and North Lee Street. The project is being funded through the Federal Highway Bridge Program from the Federal Highway Administration.

 

The general public is urged to attend, observe the presentation and provide comments on the project. The presentation shall include a description of the project, sequence of construction and maintenance of traffic plans.

 

The meeting will be held remotely as a video conference.

A recording of the work session will be posted on the Cumberland City Hall Livestream Facebook page after the meeting.

    Rumor is is the city wants to make it a toll bridge with ALL proceeds going direct to CSX. Sounds about what the city butt kissing ‘leaders’ would do.
