Cumberland Teen Assaulted And Abducted

On June 30, 2015 at 2:31 pm, Cumberland Police Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Maryland Avenue for a report of an assault.  Upon arrival officers learned that a 16-year-old victim identified as Erica Taylor was physically assaulted by an acquaintance, 36-year-old Devin Joyner.  Witnesses reported that Joyner was seen pulling Taylor away from the scene against her will prior to police arrival. 

Cumberland Police officers with the assistance of the Maryland State Police canine teams conducted a search of the area and was unable to locate the subjects. 

At this time, the Cumberland Police Department is searching for 16 year old Erica Lucinda Sue Taylor who is described as an African American female, 5’4” in height, 130 pounds, black hair last seen wearing black shorts and pink shirt.  Erica is listed as a missing person at this time. 

The Police Department is also looking for Devin Terrell Joyner, age 36, who is an African American male, 5’10” in height, 300 pounds, with black hair.  Devin Joyner is currently wanted for kidnapping and related charges. 

Anyone having information as to the location of either of these subjects is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600 or their local police agency.  Detectives from the C3I Unit are also investigating the matter.
