Cumberland Welcomes Home Olympian

A special Welcome Home celebration held at center stage on the Downtown Cumberland Mall late Tuesday afternoon for Jake Reynolds, winner of the gold medal in the Alpine Skiing Alpine Super Giant Slalom category of the 2013 World Winter Special Olympics in South Korea.  The 20-year-old skier moved to Cumberland from Los Angeles in 2007 with his mother, Pam, who owns the Bruce House Inn B&B on Fayette Street. He has attended Allegany High School and the Career Center and participates in the annual autism walk and Hooley Plunge. A crowd of several hundred were on hand to celebrate Jake’s achievement and the ceremony culminated with a presentation of the key to the city from Downtown Manager Ed Mullaney…
