Cumberland Woman Arrested for CDS After Traffic Stop

On Wednesday, March 6th, 2019, A Cumberland Police Officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired West Virginia registration on Park Street.  When the officer made contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of was performed and a quantity of marijuana, narcotic medication, and CDS paraphernalia were recovered.  Passenger; Adrienne Marcel Thomas was arrested and a search of her person also revealed a quantity of crack cocaine that she had concealed on her. Thomas was charged with CDS possession, CDS possession with intent to distribute a narcotic, and CDS possession of paraphernalia.  She was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on an unsecured bond of $8,500.
