Cumberland Woman Arrested On CDS/Domestic Assault Charges

On July 29, 2018 at 2140 hrs, officers responded to the 200 block of Independence Street for a domestic assault.  Upon arrival officers separated the parties and began to investigate the incident. Officers learned that a physical altercation occurred between Shaniqua McBurroughs, age 27, of Cumberland, and the victim.  During the altercation the victim was struck several times and received minor injuries.  Furthermore, while investigating the assault, officer located an amount of CDS laying out in plain view.  Officers placed McBurroughs under arrest for Second Degree Assault, Possession of CDS not Marijuana, and CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute. McBurroughs was taken to the Cumberland Police Department for processing and charges.  While at PH officers discovered more CDS on McBurroughs.  Subsequently, McBurroughs was charged with another count of CDS Possession not Marijuana.  McBurroughs was later taken to District Court for her Initial Appearance and held on Temporary Commitment.

    Two years ago when she was arrested here for misbehaving she was “of Baltimore”. Seems she liked in here in Grimville and decided to stay.
