Midland Woman Arrested On Murder Charge

On Tuesday, 08/19/2014, at 5:57 PM, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to a private residence on Broad Street in Midland for a report of an individual suffering from a stab wound. The victim was identified as 29 year old Edward Allen Kimble. Kimble was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

            Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Investigators learned that  Kimble and his wife, 28 year old Jessyca Laine Kimble, had been involved in an argument. Jessyca Kimble retrieved a steak knife during the argument which soon became a physical confrontation. During the ensuing fight Edward Kimble was stabbed once in the upper left chest area.

            After being stabbed, Edward Kimble ran to a nearby neighbor’s house and knocked on the door. By the time the neighbors answered the door, Kimble had collapsed on the porch. The neighbors contacted 911 and an ambulance responded to the scene.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence. The knife used during the incident was recovered.

Investigators also obtained a search warrant to obtain a DNA sample and other physical evidence from Jessyca Kimble.

The scene was processed by members of the Maryland State Police Forensic Science Division.

Kimble’s body will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy.

Jessyca Kimble was charged with 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment. She is currently awaiting an initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

The investigation is continuing by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and C3I.
