Cumberland woman sentenced on drug charges

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, the Honorable Michael Twigg, State’s Attorney, along with Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, announced on Tuesday Ashley Marie Baldwin, Cumberland, pled guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin in the Circuit Court for Allegany County.

 

The Honorable Jeffrey S. Getty, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, sentenced Baldwin to fifteen years’ incarceration, with three years of the term suspended, in the Maryland Department of Corrections. Upon Baldwin’s release, she will serve three years supervised probation.

The case was the result of an investigation, conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Unit, into the distribution and sale of heroin. During the investigation, Detectives executed a search and seizure warrant in the 200 block of East Elder Street in April, 2016. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of heroin in sufficient quantity to indicate sales and distribution.  

 

The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by George V. McKinley, Esq.
