Cumberland’s Gas Prices continue to Lead State

April 28th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Local gas prices around the Mid-Atlantic region and nationwide have continued to rise due to record level demand for gasoline in April, unrest in the Middle East, and rising crude oil prices. Maryland’s neighbor to the north, Pennsylvania, has the highest prices in the region this week with the state average hitting the $3.00 per gallon mark on Wednesday. Today’s national gas price average is $2.80, which is up five cents in the last week, up 18 cents in the last month and 40 cents higher than this time last year. Today’s nationwide average cost has climbed to the highest per gallon average price since June 2015. Maryland’s average cost at the pump is two cents lower than the national average at $2.78 per gallon.  The state average is six cents more than last week’s price, 11 cents higher than last month, and 38 cents more than last year’s price on this date. Maryland’s average has surpassed last year’s peak price of $2.75 per gallon and is at the highest average price since June 17, 2015. Many metro areas across the state, including Cumberland, Hagerstown, and Washington’s Maryland suburbs, are pricing at or above $2.80 per gallon.

THE ONLY RELIEF FROM THIS PRICE GOUGING IS FOR THE GREEDY OIL COMPANIES TO COME TO TERMS WITH THE IDEA THAT THEY ARE DESTROYING THE COUNTRIES RIGHT TO A REASONABLE PRICE FOR GASOLINE. OF COURSE, THE ECONOMY IS GETTING OUT OF HAND IN ALL SECTIONS OF THIS COUNTRY, INCLUDING INSURANCE COMPANIES, GROCERY STORES, INTERNET SERVICES, PHONE BILLS, AND MOST OF ALL, OUR U.S SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. THEY ARE SITTING BACK AND LETTING EVERYTHING GO HAYWIRE WHILE THEY GETTING PAYOFFS FROM ALL LOBBYISTS WHO REPRESENT THE BIG CORPORATIONS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. IT USED TO BE THAT SOMEBODY WHO RAN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE WAS DOING SO FOR THE REASON OF BETTERING THE COUNTRY. SEEMS THAT NOW THEY ALL ARE RUNNING TO BETTER THEMSELVES AND FATTEN THIER WALLETS. THE COUNTRY IS GOING DOWNHILL AND NOBODY SEEMS TO GIVE A DAMN EXCEPT THE POOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BEING HIT THE HARDEST. WHEN WE HAVE BALL PLAYERS MAKING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A YEAR, AND GOVERNMENT FUNDS BUILDING STADIUMS FOR THE TEAM OWNERS, WHO IN TURN CHARGE OUT LANDISH PRICES FOR A SEAT TO WATCH THESE HIGH PAID JOKERS PLAY BALL AND CHARGE EIGHT AND TEN DOLLARS FOR A COLD BEER THAT YOU CAN BUY AT HOME FOR LESS THAM A DOLLAR A CAN. AS LONG AS THIS DIRECTION THE UNITED STATES SEEMS TO BE IN FAVOR OF, WE ARE IN VERY DEEP TROUBLE AND OUR ECONOMY WILL SURELY CRUMBLE, IF OUR LEADERS DON’T WAKE UP AND TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEMS BEFORE IT’S TO LATE, IF IT ALREADY ISN’T.
