April 17th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

The Allegany County Public Schools middle school after school programs have current openings for the remainder of this school year for interested students. Enrolled students receive extra academic help and have the opportunity to enjoy several exciting field trip experiences.

The program runs for three hours immediately following the school day. In addition to the one-hour of academic time, students also participate in 30 minutes of outdoor (weather permitting) exercise, one hour of enrichment activities, and a free hot meal courtesy of HRDC.

Upcoming field trips include a visit to Frostburg State University’s pool and gymnasium, Allegany College of Maryland’s pool, Rocky Gap State Park, and the WISP ski resort’s ropes course and mountain coaster.

Interested students should visit the school system’s website, www.acpsmd.org, and click on Departments, After School Programs, and Middle School After School Programs. Students can also inquire about this program or get an application in their school’s main office.
